Adoption in Merseyside (AiM) is the regional adoption agency for the Merseyside region and provides all statutory adoption functions including recruitment and assessment of adopters, family finding for children and adoption support, on behalf of the four Local Authorities that comprise AiM, namely Wirral, Liverpool, Knowsley and Sefton.

AiM is based in New Hutte neighbourhood centre in Halewood, which has free car parking.

An Adoption Support worker post is required within the Adoption Support team to provide support for adoptive families across the region. In this role you will have responsibility for maintaining the Letterbox/indirect contact service on behalf of Wirral children placed for adoption, with some work needing to be provided from a Wirral office base; you will also provide advice and support for families pre and post adoption in a range of areas, including parenting and therapeutic support; and working alongside other colleagues within the team in organising support groups and events for adoptive families.

The successful applicant will have good written and communication skills with all parties involved in adoption; good organisational and time management skills including experience of IT systems and accurate recording, with an attention to detail and the ability to use initiative if required. Experience of working with families and other agencies is essential, as is the ability to drive due to the geographical area covered.
