The Neighbourhood Youth Worker will be located at West Kirby Youth Club in the West Wirral A Neighbourhood Youth area.
They will assist the Team Leader to manage a Youth Service unit/project and working alongside the Team Leader to liaise with and support voluntary organisations as part of the area's development, with a complement of Level 1 Youth Support Workers (Assisting). The Neighbourhood Youth Worker will be accountable to and be line managed by a Team Leader. A percentage of the postholder's time will be in direct contact with young people as agreed by the Head of Service as appropriate to the role.
The post holder will take an active role including receiving, prioritising, and completing work allocated through the Team Leader and wider services processes.
In this role, Neighbourhood Youth Workers will deliver a high standard youth work and meet the needs of the young people they are working with. They will also build and develop partnership work in the neighbourhood area, establishing networks with other organisations, schools, partners and individuals to further the work on behalf of young people. They will also ensure that young people are actively involved in the design, delivery and governance of the project and local community processes.
You will deliver at least 3 evenings of open access youth work.
Candidate must have knowledge and understanding of essential criteria below:
You'll need to be qualified in NVQ 3 Qualification in youth work or equivalent and have experience working in a youth club setting.
Above all you will be looking to improve the way we engage with our employees/residents/customers to ensure they are at the heart of everything we do.
