The opportunity has arisen for a Housing Options/Homelessness Team Leader, to head up a team of officers, working in a fast-paced environment, assisting people with complex presenting needs.
We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated individual to provide supervision, support, advice, and guidance to a team of Homeless Prevention and Assessment Officers. You will be required to deliver a professional and seamless service to those people presenting to the Council who are homeless or at risk of being homeless.
You would be responsible for ensuring that the Homeless Prevention and Assessment Officers provide timely interventions and assessments, to support clients into permanent and settled affordable accommodation. We are seeking someone who is committed to improving customer experiences and will actively contribute to continuous improvement, driving change within the service, to ensure improved outcomes, with an emphasis on up streaming prevention activity.
You will be required to have comprehensive knowledge of homeless legislation (Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 & 2002) this will include developing personalised housing plans and decision making in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. In addition to this, you will have experience of working within a homeless/ housing environment and managing officers dealing with demanding caseload carrying out assessments and investigations in line with homeless legislation, including developing/implementing prevention tools to sustain tenancies or secure suitable, affordable accommodation.
